Scott completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Geography and began his career in commercial real estate as an office lease negotiator with Torode Realty. He joined Pattison Outdoor Advertising and successfully expanded the company into three new markets, dealt with various governing bodies and regulatory agencies, and negotiated site agreements with land owners. He continued negotiating contracts for Coinamatic Canada, marketing to owners and managers in the multi-family housing industry. In a newly deregulated cable television industry, Scott worked for Shaw, with major commercial and multi-family customers in a defensive capacity as competitive services began to emerge. Recognizing the advantages of working for the new entrants, Scott managed the expansion of Bell ExpressVu's Commercial/Multi-family Division into Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, handling high level negotiations and coordinating regional sales teams. With his excellent ability to define and focus on meeting the needs of his customers and his keen business sense, Scott founded Utility Source to ensure that consumers are well represented, informed and knowledgeable in the new and unfamiliar area of deregulated utility procurement. |

![]() Utility Source is on the front line of Western Canadian deregulated energy markets and has strong relationships with numerous natural gas and electricity retailers, while remaining independent and unbiased. Our clients benefit from our constant contact with these suppliers since we are able to monitor the fluctuation of their rates in relation to each other. There is not one supplier that consistently provides the best rates. If you are dealing with a retailer directly, how can you be sure you are dealing with the most competitive one at that time? When retailers receive an RFP from Utility Source, they know they are competing with other retailers. Therefore, our clients can be assured that they are always receiving highly competitive offers. All of our suppliers are licensed by the provincial government, are well established, and have reputable track records. Utility Source is able to work with various retailers because we make it easy for them as well. Many of our suppliers focus on only the largest consumers, and do not have the resources to work with "smaller" consumers. They work with us because we have refined the process so that they can easily quote on your requirements, without having to have the staff needed to deal with a large number of potential customers. Retailers also realize the validity and importance of the consumers need to have independent representation. |
